John McCreight is the founder and chairman of McCreight & Company, Inc. He is also the
co-founder and managing partner of two sister managemented consulting firms:
Board Effectiveness Partners, LLC and the CIO Group,LLC.

He has been a management consultant in public practice since 1968, serving client interests in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Western Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

John's consulting is focused on partnering with CEOs and their senior leaders, directors, boards, and investors in industry; and senior federal government leaders.



Most of John's engagements involve one or more of the following client priorities:

crisis avoidance or mitigation;
global growth and change . . . mergers, acquisitions, alliances, joint ventures, and launching new businesses
and product-line extensions;
senior leader transition and leader and board effectiveness; and
operations and technology transformation.

In addition, John has consulted to the New York and Boston mayors' offices; the mayor of Detroit; the San Francisco, New Haven, and New York police chiefs or commissioners; the governor of Indiana, and the Michigan governor's office. He served as a pro bono advisor to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, the National Institutes of Health, Carnegie Hall, the Salvation Army, the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut; the Superintendent of Schools, Stamford, Connecticut; Voices of September 11; and Fairfield '08 - a not-for-profit partnership focused on eliminating chronic homelessness in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

John was a full- time member of a Presidential Commission staff, co-directing an industry and client team focused on strengthening the effectiveness of the U.S. Navy.

Background
John is a former director and officer of the Institute of Management Consultants. He has served as a board member of Hayes Hill & Company (currently Towers Perrin), the Global Trade Finance Network, the Marine Enviornmental Research Institute, and the Access Ambulance Company, and served as an advisor to the Greenwich Emergency Medical Services.

He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the Concord Coalition, the Foreigh Policy Association, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the National Association of Corporate Directors, the New York Academy of Sciences, the United Nations Association of the United States of America, the University Club of New York City, the World Affairs Forum, and the World Future Society.

John received a B.S. in Management Sciences from Northeastern University. He holds TS/SCI security clearance through full-scope polygraph.

Career Highlights
During his career, John has served as Partner and member of the Executive Committee of Touche Ross & Company (currently Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu), Managing Director of Hayes Hill & Company (currently Towers Perrin), and Managing Director of The Hay Group.

Prior to consulting, John was Section Chief, Computer and Management Systems Development, AVCO - Apollo and Minuteman Divisions (currently Textron); and Management Systems Development Leader, Thiokol (currently Alliant Techsystems, Inc.).
